Were You Ever Annoyed By Commercials?
Two gorillas were watching TV.
Said the one, "That is something to see!
It can grate, chop, and slice
For one very low price
And for $9.99 you get three!"
More Hamsters
Once a hamster with food in its cheeks
Went missing for two solid weeks.
From a hole in the wall
There proceeded to crawl
Six more furballs with pert little squeaks!
Scary Cat
Once a cat who was stuck in a tree
Scared the farmer as much as could be
On his hat, in the dark
Fell a loose piece of bark
From a perch that the man couldn't see!
(P.S. This one really happened!)
Eau Perfume
Once a bulldog that slept near a trunk
Was sprayed by a neighboring skunk.
He wilted the flowers
Till multiple showers
Reduced the amount that he stunk.
Itsy Bitsy
Once a spider determined to climb
Could never get out of the slime
For the water came out
From the spigoted spout
And it knocked him to earth every time.
Piggy's Thirst
There once was a piggy who ate
A hole in the fence by the gate
He went out for a run
Till his time in the sun
A great thirst for his trough did create.
Primal Art
Once a monkey who lived in the zoo
Was bored and had nothing to do.
Made an art institute
Using paint made from fruit
And taught culture and etiquette, too!

Limericks were a lot of fun in English class as a pre-teen. I liked your $9.99 piece the best because every time I see any commercial that gives a price and then says, "but wait, for a limited time offer, you can get two for the same price!" Thanks for your hub.

As a kid I would read limericks over and over again and tried to make up some of my own. They never seemed to be as hilarious or as clever as the ones I read though. These were great and I enjoyed going down memory lane :)
