Blogging--A Creative Outlet

Letting Your Creativity Run Free
Many creative people like to draw, paint, write, sculpt, or compose. Blogging is a way to share some of your work immediately. It may take years to get your work noticed through traditional means, but blogging is changing the way creative people share their skills and heartfelt creations with others.
Invest in a Digital Camera
If you take your blogging seriously, you're going to want to invest in a high quality digital camera that is simple to use--not simply because you don't want to be bothered with a cantankerous gadget, but also because the faster you express what's on your mind, the more likely it is that you will be able to capture it before it "gets away." Creative ideas and spurts or bursts of inspiration are fleeting, and you must be ready when the moment happens. This is why a very easy-to-use camera can be a blogger's good friend and right hand man. Many people appreciate a good picture to go with your topic, and you will be making your art even better by being thorough.
The Frowning Editor
Since you are your own editor, you are going to have to play the critic to some of your own beloved works. Try to put yourself in someone else's shoes and see how others will view what you do. Even in your own shoes, ask yourself this: if I found this on a shelf somewhere, would I read it?
Be a stickler for spelling and punctuation. If you're not sure, look it up. Sites like grammarbook.com or yourdictionary.com can assist you in your quest for perfection.
Have Fun!
When you blog, be sure you enjoy your work. Work that is enjoyed nearly always results in higher quality. Readers can tell if you were "in" the work or if you trudged, drudged, and begrudged your way through it. If you find yourself in a grumpy mood, take a break or get some coffee. Put on background music while you work (an old artists' trick--studio music). Get in the mood to create, and share your work on a blog!

Great ideas, and thanks for sharing them. Blogging also helps folks to get troubles off their chests sometimes. God Bless You.
My blog started as a poetic outlet...it's evolved into a pretty nice journal. My iphone is the best for pics, as I can email them to myself, and get specific ones onto my computer easily, without a lengthy download process.
Do you have a preference for a particular blogging platform?
Great article and very informative. I definitely agree that it helps bring out your creativity and also I've found it is a way of feeling accomplishment each day.
Love this article Silver Poet as I only started blogging recently and quite frankly didn't trust the web for a long time. Hubpages has changed my view and I truly love writing on this site as there are so many positive people to share things with, like yourself.
It's a great therapy I'm going out today to enjoy the sun and new flowers, thanks for reminding me to take a camera.
I enjoyed reading this Hub with some good ideas about blogging. Thanks
Love and peace
Tony
