Corydoras: the Peaceful Cleanup Crew

Most people add a few corydoras to their tank to help keep it clean.  They are the janitors of the fish world, always probing the tank floor with their mustache-like mouths.  They never fight, and they like to be with other fish.  And though I knew what they were used for, they were the first and only thing I wanted when I tried to think of what sort of fish to put in my new tank.

What I Found They Like to Eat

What do I feed my Corydoras?  Well....they like... Betta food.  Yep, that's right.  My spotted Dalmatian corydoras get five pieces of Betta food every day.  They dart to the top of the tank and chase after it.  It keeps them healthier than any fish flakes I've tried, and it doesn't cloud the water.

Beware the Spine!

Corydora Catfish have a spine in their dorsal fin. Don't touch it! Also, be careful when netting them that it doesn't get lodged in the net.

Banana Plants

Banana plants are easy to buy and care for. They add color to the tank, help keep it oxygenated, and provide a place for fish to hide.

Short, sweet and interesting hub. I would like a fish tank at some point, I'll consider Corydoras. Nice choice of pictures too.
